The cold weather cancelled our last Thursday evening. It was touch and go watching the forecast through the week but we all agree “better safe than sorry”. That would make the next Thursday evening meeting the 4^th of February (can you believe it?). I will check in with the Chef to see if his creations are on tap or not and will report back. We did have a great Monday breakfast due to above freezing conditions. It was good to catch up with each other’s activities after so many breaks due to bad weather.

I am nearly done with that book I have been sharing over the past few articles. “Unbroken” is a real page turner. It follows the true story of the amazing journey Louie Zamperini’s life took during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He had endured being a castaway at sea and several transfers as a POW suffering interrogation and degradation in various camps, finally in Japan. It examines the emotions and fears, hopes and disappointments the prisoners experienced until their emancipation by the American troops.

After the big stretch and yawn and noting the few pounds that will need to go soon; we turn the page into 2016! It was a cold and white holiday that thawed quick enough but surely we have not seen the end. Things at the Hut slowed down after the Christmas Dinner due to the nasty weather but activity will soon start ramping up again.

Well another great Christmas Parade is in the books! Chilly but fun. This will be my last offering for this year as many will be travelling and sharing the holidays with friends and family. We at the Hut wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Though things sometimes seem challenging at times we have our hope in our Supreme Commander’s constant love. His gift of this love to us is our obligation to share in deed and word.
