What a year and season it has been. The Christmas and holidays moved fast, as the wife and I traveled to Fresno CA, Pleasanton, CA, then up to see my grandkids in Tillamook Oregon; seeing old high school buddies along the way. We even saw a few migrating whales on the coast. I returned on the old route 66 map, to make our Thursday meeting last week. It’s good to get grounded again, back home, and happy to be among friends. Meeting is Confirmed

Despite the cold weather we WILL have the American Legion meeting Thursday night at 7:00 PM, and Jerry Sebert is cooking a HOT MEAL DINNER for everyone starting at 6:00 PM at the hut.
We have the thermostat set on 40 degrees and and it stayed that was all day today. It should warm up a little bit tomorrow afternoon and we should be out by 8:00 PM.
I think we are having birthday cake for Eli Prater and Johnny Doudna the January Birthday boys. Not sure about the ice cream though!

See everyone on Thursday! Hope you can make it!

Stan Mueller

In a surprise presentation, Navy veteran Stan Mueller was presented his American Legion cap by fellow Navy veteran and CPO2 John Fields. Charles O’Leary assisted with the presentation from Post 142. The cap presentation included Mueller’s ribbon medals; which included the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal for wartime military service, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with two campaign stars and Vietnam Service Medal. He was also given a US Navy and Vietnam pin, a pin with the US and Navy flags crossed and a pin with his former rank Chief Petty Officer Second Class, Gunner’s Mate 2 to wear on his cap. Mueller served on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger CVA-61 and landing ship tank USS Summit County LST-1146 during his career. He plans on sewing patches of the different ships he served on his new legion cap. Congratulations to GM2 Stan Mueller and thank you for your military service!
