Each year, American Legion department service officers help thousands of veterans receive VA benefits they earned through service to their country. The Legion conducts, promotes and supports hundreds of career fairs for veterans and transitioning servicemembers, bringing employers face to face with job hunters. Through Operation Comfort Warriors, the Legion raises funds to provide comfort items for U.S. troops recovering in military hospitals and transition units worldwide. Legion staff lobbies Congress for better quality of life for U.S. military personnel. Continue reading

Injured Oklahoma Soldier Honored by American Legion

TULSA, Oklahoma — A wounded veteran was recognized for his service Saturday at the American Legion hall on East Admiral. Ronnie McCulley was on his way home from San Antonio where he travels for treatment for burn injuries.

Veterans saluted the young Owasso soldier who was badly burned in an explosion in while serving in Afghanistan. Continue reading

National Commander Meets with President Obama

In a busy week filled with foreign relations activity at the White House, which includes a presidential address to the nation tonight.   President Barack Obama hosted American Legion National Commander Jimmie L. Foster at a March 28 White House meeting to discuss several veterans issues, including ways to help the Department of Veterans Affairs reduce its disability claims backlog. Continue reading

Shinseki: VA Demand Grows

The Post is across from the street from the Wal-Mart.
Sign in starts at 8:00 am; Convention starts at 9:00 am.

There is a small registration fee and lunch will be served for $7.00.
Please support our District, by attending the Convention.
