This is a short version this week, holidays have folks coming and going. At the Hut we hope your holiday season remembers the reason for this season, that the Supreme Commander sacrificed his Son for us. Also that you have a warm, happy, and safe experience!
There will be a Sons of the American Legion meeting at 5:00 PM on Thursday December 5th at the Hut. No regular Legion meeting that day due to the Christmas Dinner next Thursday. The Sons and parents or family member will be invited to the Legion/Auxiliary Christmas Dinner also. That event will be The annual Auxiliary/Legion Christmas Dinner will be on December 12 th at 6:00 PM with a short meeting at 7:00 PM for any announcements from the Auxiliary/Legion.
In the meantime most know the lighting of the tree was postponed till 6:30 PM, December 7th before the evening Christmas Parade. It is a great opportunity for the community to come together! Thanks again to Jerry L. Jackson, USAF we found out that Whirlpool Corporation will donate a stove to once appropriate forms and processes are in place. Adjutant Hamilton will handle the letter of need and this will save us $300-$400. Thanks Jerry and John!
These are our last few months to sell tickets on the 10-Gun Raffle. The Post gets half of the proceeds. All of the Oklahoma 100th Anniversary coins have been sold out at State HQ. There are no more. We have some and they are only $5.00 for Post members and $10.00 for non-members. I’ll be buying a few for good friends and posterity!
Monday morning Koffee Klatch meetings in December are still scheduled for biscuits and gravy or doughnuts and always a cup of Joe (coffee to the civilians). Just watch the weather, it is the only factor that my change that. If you are a veteran come on by. If you have a good story it may end up in print.
