What a time for Hominy! Our High School football team was fantastic. While we are proud of our players I think, we are also proud of all our students at school. They are involved in the community and all types of activities. I have seen some attend our community movies and believe they are the future of Hominy.

Post 142 was proudly represented at this year’s Christmas Parade.  Sadly, I was AWOL, sick as a dog missing my brothers in arms. Kudos to Chris and Carl for their stand-up representation. The flu ambushed me this week as well as a few other things. Last week’s paper displayed a WWI tank mock up Carl’s son put together for the parade. He made some comments about our WWI heritage. Oh my, no more pumpkin pie, no more pecan pie. I was thankful for four days of family, football, and food. I hope you enjoyed the break as well. And now we continue the festive season with the Christmas Parade coming up and the Holly Days at the Mosaic park downtown. It’s good to have so many things going on. Soon the Hut will host the annual Christmas Dinner that the Auxiliary always knocks out of the park. Before I go on I want to say, “GO BUCKS!” You made us proud from the players to the supporters, Cheerleaders, and coaches, well done!

Flags went up and came down on Main Street and Highways 20 and 99 over the Veteran’s Day celebrations. The high school young folks put on quite an event honoring veteran’s and their families. The food was outstanding. Congratulations to this year’s Osage Blanket honorees Gary Anderson, Marine, Vietnam combat veteran, and Dennis Kidder, US Army and Vietnam combat veteran. Flags were carried on to the field of play by the Hominy HS Bucks football team and then on to a victory in a great contest against Pawnee. Go Bucks!
