I had the pleasure of sitting down with Babe Long recently and enjoyed his recounting of his military service. You may be as amazed, as I was, when I tell you what he did in service to his country. The next American Legion Meeting of local Post #142
will be this Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00pm, at the Hut.
Jerry Sebert will be cooking a dinner for everyone…that starts at 6:00pm.
So pass the word on to those who don’t have email. With the time change, it should be light enough for those who don’t get out at night to make it!
Also, at this week’s meeting…we will be discussing upcoming election of officers.
And, we will have a short slide show of the Iwo Jima Memorial Parade at Sacaton, AZ from last month. Thanks in advance to Gary Lanham for getting the TV set up.
We will also be deciding the date for the upcoming Chicken Noodle Fundraiser.
Finally, there will be a Medal of Honor Day ceremony
at Veterans Park in Tulsa on April 25th, at 1:00pm.
I plan on attending and hope some of you can also.
We will visit about it, during this week’s meeting.

Well, last week I knocked on wood about the weather. But that was for no more snow or ice. Mother Nature pulled a fast one on us with that storm that blew through last Wednesday. While we had much needed rain and loads of wind at our place, one was lost in Sand Springs. Our prayers go out to the family. Continue reading
